Get Rid of Allergy Symptoms with No Drugs

Chiropractic has been shown to boost the body's immune system and promote overall wellness. These can be important considerations in the elimination or prevention of allergic symptoms.

Clair Whitman, BSc from Bastyr University, has written a wonderful article in To Your Health about how to get rid of allergy symptoms without drugs.

Natural Solutions for allergies and their symptoms include:

1. Limiting allergen exposure: Use of an air filter. Pet areas, carpets, rugs and upholstered furniture should be cleaned regularly, and bedding should be washed at least once a week.

2. Avoid these foods: Dairy products, chocolate, sugar and gluten. All have been closely linked to respiratory allergies. There is also strong evidence suggesting food additives such as artificial dyes, sulfites, and benzoates are culprits.

3. Eat these foods: Intake of omega-3 fatty acids are seen to support healthy airways and encourage the production of anti-inflammatory mediators. Also consider onions, garlic, ginger, rosemary and tumeric.

4. Get your antioxidants: Increasing antioxidant intake such as Vitamin C and E, along with selenium, carotenoids, and flavonoids are good in prevention of production of free radicals, which is often associated with allergy and asthma cases.
